How to Automate Azan with Google Speakers

Play the Azan automatically on Google Nest, Google Home, and Chromecast-enabled speakers with the Smart Azan mobile app.

How Google speaker automation works

Google Nest and Google Home speakers can play the Azan through Smart Azan when your phone and speaker are connected on the same Wi-Fi network. The mobile app finds your compatible cast devices and sends the Azan audio at the scheduled prayer time.

This setup works well for homes that already use Google speakers in the kitchen, living room, bedroom, or family room.

Prepare your devices

Before setup, confirm that your phone and Google speaker are on the same Wi-Fi network. Open the Google Home app and make sure the speaker is online and reachable.

If your home uses mesh Wi-Fi, guest networks, or separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, place the phone and speaker on the same network segment so device discovery works correctly.

Set prayer times in Smart Azan

After your speaker is found, configure your location and prayer time preferences in Smart Azan. The app can then use those settings to play the Azan at Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha.

If your local mosque follows custom Iqamah or timetable adjustments, use offsets so the reminder matches the schedule your family follows.

Playing on multiple Google speakers

For multiple rooms, use Google Home speaker groups when available. A group can help you play the Azan across several compatible speakers at the same time.

If a speaker does not appear in Smart Azan, restart the speaker, restart the phone, and check that both devices are still on the same Wi-Fi network.

When Google is the right choice

Google speakers are a good fit if your household already keeps an Android phone available on the home Wi-Fi network and you want easy casting to Nest or Google Home devices.

Smart Azan makes that workflow focused on prayer times, so your speakers can become a regular part of the home's Salah routine.
